He said the car overheated and he lost like 40 minutes of drive time...which really sucks! i miss him!
so ive been chatting with this girl who i met a few times at some parties before vacation. she never seemed very interested before but man is she hot! well now, i cant tell if she is just being friendly or if she is flirting with me. sometimes liking women can get confusing---i wish i could tell which it is!

so derrien left thursday morning to drive back to our home in illinois from here (nevada). he is going to bring one of our vehicles and our canoe back so we can commence with our adventure! i am thoroughly excited that we will finally be able to begin our trips! i guess these past 2 months have been more of a health rehab or sorts. i finally quit smoking---i should have listened to nick when he told me to quit back in highschool. oh well better late than never i guess. i am routing our trip with some maps and books from the library right now. i'm trying to find the quickest route to get to the redwood national forest in ca. i feel like if we don't do this trip it will all be a waste, being here that is. it is just so beautiful and i want to see it all!
tata

Little 'ole me...hehe

so today i had play practice for the vagina monologues production.
micha--the director had us work on improv. excercises to get us used to coming up with answers for our characters off the top of our heads. I am terrible with improv., let me tell ya, i'm learning though. i have to remember not to think! since there are 4 of us doctor vag's we will have a doctor question/answer panel @ the beginning and end of the show. this is where we will have fun with our characters and help to loosen the audience up & of course, ultimately, prep the audience members for praising that which is "the vagina" . whooooo!!
working with these women is so inspiring and really makes me feel at home with myself. ive also learned to think of my vagina as a seperate entity...if that can be understood...and something that is incredibly suprising to me is there aren't any gay or bisexual women in the show----or at least none that fess up or kiss and tell, so to speak. (i find that a little strange.) oh well, who am i to judge, right? well i guess there is one....LITTLE 'OLE ME---hehe.

the vagina monologues

Thank you to all the wonderful women who are joining us for this incredible production! If the auditions were any indication, this is going to be a fabulous show! The list is in no particular order. We are going to have a mandatory first meeting this coming weekend. Please check back on the website on Wednesday for the date, time and location. (If anyone has a central location where 40+ women can meet for an hour or so, please let us know!) Thanks again!

Wild Horse Productions is proud to be a member of the 2008 V-Day Campaign and an official presenter of “The Vagina Monologues”.

This production will be directed by Micha Marie Stevens and will be presented at Marlette Hall at WNC on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15, 2008.

Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues” is based on her interviews with more than 200 women about love, sex and life. The results are humorous, sad and empowering combinations of monologues given by diverse women. Funds raised by “The Vagina Monologues” performances will be donated to organizations and causes that provide violence prevention education and support services, including our local chapter of Advocates to End Domestic Violence. Since 1998 V-Day has raised millions of dollars to help educate people about violence against women.

For additional information about this production call 887-0438. Check out www.vday.org for information about the V-Day Campaign. Until the violence stops...
*this article is from Wildhorse Productions webpage

the vagina monologues

Who said that?
The Vagina Monologues—auditions

By Wishelle Banks
More stories by this author...
This article was published on 12.20.07.

Behind the controversy, embarrassed smirks and knowing smiles that spread at the mention of The Vagina Monologues, there is a steadfast, serious theme embedded deep within this bittersweet comedy-and-drama dichotomy: a demand and a driving force to stop global violence against women and girls.
While the title alone tends to inflame, incite or offend certain people of delicate senisbilities. The Jan. 5, 2008, auditions for Eve Ensler’s audacious, critically-acclaimed play will surely soothe, enlighten and empower many more. Carson City’s Wild Horse Productions is one of a limited number of theaters selected to offer a very special performance of The Vagina Monologues, commemorating the 10th anniversary of V-Day. This around-the-world effort takes a zero-tolerance stand against rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation and sexual slavery.
Translated into 45 languages and performed in some 119 countries around the globe, funds raised by Wild Horse’s March 14-15 performances of TVM will be donated to local organizations that champion violence prevention and education—like Advocates to End Domestic Violence.
“We wanted to find something we could do to benefit the community,” says Wild Horse Productions executive director Carol Scott, adding that they’re looking for women of all shapes, sizes, creeds and colors—with a minimum age of 18, due to the story’s mature subject matter. “Part of our mission is to be a community-based organization, and educate people—not only in the arts, but to bring awareness.”
Scott says Wild Horse is limited to “two, royalty-free performances, so hopefully we’ll sell out.”
No theater experience or preparation is required for the auditions, and for the privilege of participating in the 10th anniversary benefit performance of TVM, Wild Horse agreed not to alter nor deter from the original script.
“[We] have to do it word-for-word,” explains Micha Marie Stevens, the 29-year-old director. “It’s important not to tamper because these are things that have actually happened to people. [The story is] more about the women and not the theatrics. The playwright is so specific, and it’s written for women by women, so I don’t want to stray from what the playwright intends because that’s the piece. It’s kind of a freeing experience for some women that haven’t had a voice. So [performing] makes it safe.”
Everyone who shows up to audition will have the opportunity to be part of the production.
“If there is a huge turnout, we may be able to actually double-cast it and have two different shows,” Stevens says. “If only five people show up, I’ve got that covered, too. It’s not about being a professional actress. It’s more about connecting and speaking from the heart. So you gotta have heart.”
Wild Horse promises that men with heart are welcome, too, though males who want to get involved will be given backstage duties.
While some may blush or balk at actually speaking the play’s title, the female forces driving Wild Horse’s special production of The Vagina Monologues believe that it’s the other v-word that shouldn’t go unmentioned: violence. A spirit of unity will be fostered, Stevens says, through the power of the story, and give the audience the opportunity to reach out to the voiceless, both here at home and far away.
“When they leave the theater, they actually have something to talk about.”

Busy day!!

So I just went jogging again tonight. It went well--I took a different route this time because I need some new scenery. It was snowing out and really cold!! I used a tip a friend of mine told me the other day--I put a light layer of petroleum jelly around the areas on my face that were exposed to the cold air (my forehead, nose, most of my cheeks, and mouth were covered with a hat and scarf) so while you are jogging your skin is protected from the elements and will not chap or anything---also, when you shower after the workout the jelly will come right off, easy as pie! NEway I tried it out thinking it wouldn't work and that it would feel weird, but honestly the skin that was exposed wasn't as cold as I expected and my skin felt really soft after the shower.
